• PROBABILISTIC ANALYSIS OF MANPOWER SYSTEM WITH RECRUITMENT PERIOD DEPENDING ON ATTRITION DURING THE OPERATING PERIOD OF A TWO - UNIT SYSTEM

Abstract

A system in which employees leave the organization during operating period of a two unit system and new employees are recruited during the operation time or after that is treated. The two-unit system is attended by the employees. When one unit of the two-unit system fails it is sent for repair. The failure and repair times are exponential. The system functions so long as at least one unit is functioning. The system stops when both units are in failed state. The recruitment of the employees starts with a probability p on all departure epochs. If the recruitment does not begin the vacancies accumulate till a threshold level is reached and after that the recruitment starts. When the two units are in failed state, the recruitment is also taken up. The joint Laplace transforms of time to recruitment and recruitment time, their means and a numerical result are presented.
