• PRIME AND MAXIMAL SPECTRA

Abstract

In this paper certain elementary properties of Prime Spectrum of commutative ring R with identity (Spec R) are proved and the space Max. Spec R of maximal ideals whose topology is relative to that Spec R is discussed.  Also the spectra of familiar rings are examined, particularly if R is principal ideal domain, it is observed that Spec R is of the form S∪{0}, where S is a set with the co-finite topology.
