• MIXED CONVECTIVE FLOW IN A VERTICAL CHANNEL FILLED WITH POROUS MEDIUM USING DIFFERENTIAL TRANSFORM METHOD
Abstract
In this paper, the differential transform method (DTM) was applied to the mixed convection in a vertical channel filled with a porous medium including the effect of inertial forces in the presence of viscous and Darcy dissipations. Approximate solutions of the governing system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations were calculated in the form of DTM series with easily computable terms. The validity of the series solutions were verified by comparison with numerical results obtained using a fourth order Runge-Kutta shooting method (RKSM) and perturbation method (PM). The influence of mixed convection parameter and porous parameter on the velocity and temperature components was discussed.
