• STUDY OF BLOOD FLOW INSIDE AN INCLINED NON-UNIFORM STENOSED ARTERY

Abstract

A mathematical model is developed to study the steady flow of blood (Newtonian fluid) through an inclined tapered constricted artery with an axial slip in velocity at the tapered vessel wall. The present model is intended to investigate the combined influence of tapering angle, slip at wall, inclined artery, Newtonian nature and non-symmetrical stenosis, for blood flow through constricted arteries. Closed form analytic solutions have been obtained. Analytic expressions for impedance to flow and wall shear stress are obtained and their variations with several flow parameters, are presented graphically. Here, an effort is made to compare our results with other theoretical observations. Finally, biological implications of the present model are included in brief.
