Abstract

The students’ attitude toward statistics influences on the learning process and affects the level to which the students develop the abilities in the discipline. This study aims to determine whether there are mean differences in the theoretical model of Cristóbal Colón University (UCC) and the Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí (UASLP) that explains the attitude towards statistics. 509 students were surveyed: 239 belong to the UCC and 221 to UASLP. Was applied scale of Auzmendi [1] composed of five factors: Anxiety, likeness, confidence, motivation and usefulness. In applying multigroup analysis of means and covariance structures to the data, the results show that there is a difference in attitude towards statistics among college students, the difference is in which the students of the UASLP do not like statistics.
