• ANALYTICAL STUDY OF ELASTICO VISCOUS FLUID (BLOOD) THROUGH AN ARTERY WITH MILD STENOSIS

Abstract

This problem presents analytical study of blood flow through an artery with mild stenosis.the fluid blood is assumed to be elastic-viscous(Kuvshinski Type fluid) in nature. The governing equations of motion of fluid subject to the boundary conditions are solved by analytical method involving Bessel’s functions. The analytical expressions for axial velocity (w), volumetric flow rate (Q) and resistance impedance(z) are obtained the numerical values are extracted from these analytical expressions and presented graphically. It is observed that the influence of Kuvshinski type fluid (visco-elastic parameter ( ) has important impact on the axial velocity profile and resistance impedance. More over the effect of stenosis has been significantly observed.
