• ON THE DYNAMIC MODEL AND CONTROL OF VARIABLE SPEED TURBINE GENERATORS
Abstract
In the paper is discussed the possibility of finding new points of contact between the qualitative theory of ordinary differential equations and study electrical and mechanical properties of electrical machines. It proved to be feasible to apply theoretical results concerning stability properties of the trivial solution of certain two-dimensional systems (switched linear systems) and certain perturbed systems, also two-dimensional, to study the dynamic behavior of a variable speed electric generator. Advantage was taken of the fact that the system describing the operation of generator, with reference to a three phase system of either voltage, current or flows over an ABC axes forming 120 degrees coordinate system, can be transformed to an equivalent one, associated with axes forming 90 degrees angle. The new system is two-dimensional and it is possible to apply the results already referred for this phase space dimension.
