• RADIATION AND MASS TRANSFER EFFECTS ON MHD MARANGONI CONVECTION OVER A FLAT SURFACE IN PRESENCE OF JOULE HEATING, VISCOUS DISSIPATION, HEAT GENERATION WITH SUCTION AND INJECTION

Abstract

This work is focused on the effects of mass transfer, thermal radiation, Joule heating, viscous dissipation and heat generation on magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) Marangoni convection boundary layer over a flat surface. We also investigated the influence of suction and injection on the boundary layer. The governing partial differential equations are reduced to a system of self-similar equations using the similarity transformations. The resultant equations are then solved numerically using the Runge-Kutta method along with shooting technique. The effects of governing parameters on velocity, temperature and concentration as well as interface velocity, the surface temperature gradient and the surface concentration gradient were presented in graphical and tabular forms. Comparisons with previously published work are performed and the results are found to be in excellent agreement.
