• TWO-LAYERED MODEL FOR BLOOD FLOW INSIDE INCLINED TAPERED ARTERY WITH NON-SYMMETRIC STENOSIS AND VELOCITY SLIP

Abstract


The paper deals with a two-layered blood flow model in an inclined tapered artery. In the model core region consists of red blood cell suspension and plasma is in the peripheral layer of the tube. In this paper, the flow of blood is assumed to be steady, laminar, axi-symmetric and,the body fluid blood behaves as a Newtonian fluid. Analytical expressions are obtained for axial velocity, flow rate and wall shear stress at the interface of stenotic region. Their variations with different flow parameters are plotted graphically and the behavior of these flow variables in this region, has been discussed. The present analysis includes some blood flow models as it special cases. It could be noticed that an employment of slip at interface may result in accelerating the speed and flow rate and, decelerate the wall shear stresses. Biological implications of this modeling are reported in brief.
